SJN’s Africa Initiative welcomes journalist Caroline Karobia as its new manager. Karobia has spent two decades covering the continent, both for local audiences and audiences around the world. To this work she brings not only extensive knowledge but deep respect for African journalism and journalists.
Launched in conjunction with local partners Science Africa and Nigeria Health Watch, the Africa Initiative has now worked with dozens of newsrooms, mainly across Nigeria and Kenya. And while we had high hopes for the program, the enthusiasm and dedication we’ve encountered has easily exceeded all of them.
