Public Art and Lighting Initiative Enlivens Industrial Downtown

Once known as the “shoe-making capital of the world,” Lynn, Massachusetts struggled after manufacturing declined after World War II and businesses left downtown. Now the city, located just north of Boston, is experiencing renewed interest as regional growth fuels investment in surrounding communities. Beyond Walls  has produced 42 large-scale murals by internationally renowned street artists, 11 vintage neon sign installations, and colorful lighting displays in three commuter rail underpasses, generating  widespread interest.
