$100M Raised for Ukraine – Nova Ukraine

Dear Supporters and Friends,

As we close another year and near our 10th anniversary, we are filled with immense gratitude and pride for what we have achieved together.

A record $100M was raised for the Ukrainian people who carry on despite the severity of life under russian assault. Nova Ukraine sees continual growth in corporate partners, private donors, and brand ambassadors. The recognition of our accomplishments includes a second presidential award from Volodymyr Zelensky, a confirmed record for the number of power generators delivered, and a recognition of our technology adoption for accounting and financial transparency.

A Decade of Dedication

Raising $100M in two years to support the Ukrainian people is a major milestone – putting this into perspective, we recall that back in 2014, our organization began as a dream for a “New Ukraine.” From our early street rallies in San Francisco to becoming a leading humanitarian force, we’ve been driven by a mission to support Ukraine through the most challenging times.

Nick Bilogorskiy, Co-founder of Nova Ukraine, Board of Directors:

“10 years ago, as I was bringing friends to our first meeting, I could not have imagined the wild ride our charity would take. Through the sacrifice of our volunteers and the kindness of our donors, we have reached $100 million raised. I am so proud we helped save tens of thousands of lives and directly improved the lives of more than 4 million Ukrainians. And we are only getting started.”

Spotlight on Impact in Ukraine

Nova Ukraine has sourced and distributed a vast array of aid. We procure and distribute power generators, supporting the energy infrastructure recovery after russian missile attacks. We deliver medical supplies and equipment in Ukraine’s most dangerous regions. We procure grants that sustain small businesses – that keep people working, the economy stable, and spirits up.

Ostap Korkuna, Co-founder, Board of Directors:

“I am very proud of Nova Ukraine: raising $100M for Ukraine puts us in line with the top organizations in the world providing aid to Ukraine. The only thing that makes me even more proud is the efficiency with which we were able to deploy the donated funds on the ground. We closed 2022 financials with only 1.6% spent on operational overhead, making us not only one of the largest Ukrainian charities but also one of the most efficient charities in the world.”

Other than responding to urgent humanitarian needs of the country, we are also heavily investing in long-term projects to support rebuilding Ukraine after the Victory. Such projects include the rebuilding of civilian infrastructure, educational projects, and promoting Ukrainian culture.

Nova Ukraine Team

As of year’s end 2023, Nova Ukraine has grown into a diverse and passionate team of 600+ volunteers in the US and over 3,500 volunteers in Ukraine. Nova Ukraine is headquartered in the Silicon Valley, and many of our volunteers work in tech. Our skills and access to information technologies enable us to scale up our operations seamlessly and keep our transparency and reporting top-notch.

Igor Markov, Board of Directors:

“Nova Ukraine has built a network of volunteers and professionals dedicated to saving lives and delivering essential humanitarian supplies, equipment, and services in Ukraine. Through the dedicated efforts of our teams in the US and Ukraine, we’ve assisted millions affected by the war. We take pride in our accomplishments and remain committed to our ongoing efforts to support Ukraine.”

The greatest difference is made by people. Nova Ukraine connects passionate volunteers, donors, active supporters, and ambassadors. They see the true reward in the lives changed, the hearts stirred, and the overwhelming gratitude of ordinary people who were just like us before the war began.

Commitment to Efficiency and Transparency

Nova Ukraine built a vast logistics network. Delivering humanitarian aid with the country’s airspace closed is not an easy task; we have strategically opened four coordination centers in the West, East, South, and North of Ukraine to deliver aid effectively. We also registered a legal entity in Kyiv, where we maintain an office with a full staff. Our Ukraine division is what makes supporting over 4.6M+ Ukrainians possible. We are now working on a scale unimaginable when Nova Ukraine first started.

Rodion Yaryy, Board of Directors:

“I am deeply grateful to our donors, partners, volunteers, and employees: your unwavering commitment has been instrumental in achieving this remarkable goal. I am proud of our technical teams at Nova Ukraine who have significantly enhanced our efficiency and contributed to maintaining an impressively low overhead. As we continue our work, my commitment is stronger than ever to support Ukraine’s victory and to rebuild Ukraine as more prosperous and democratic.”

We prioritize employing tech solutions like mission-optimized CRM and Project Management software to support accounting, provide transparency, and maintain the trust of our supporters. Our detailed financial reports are available on our website. NGO’s accountability is particularly important to ensure that aid to Ukraine continues.
