Christ Church Launches Major Capital Project – Easton Courier

After over 260 years serving this community and based on a comprehensive assessment of the aging church building and grounds, Christ Church’s leadership announces the next phase in its capital campaign, “Building for Tomorrow,” which launched in 2023.

This phase will raise funds to build a fully Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant restroom on the main floor of the church building with amenities such as: grab bars, lever-handle faucets, non-slip flooring, a tilt-mirror over the wall mounted sink as well as a changing table. Besides contributing to making wheelchair maneuvering more manageable, the accessible restroom will enable convenient restroom access during church services, ensure that those with mobility challenges can safely move around with ease and independence; and prevent individuals from having to use the children’s bathrooms on the lower level, enhancing the security of the nursery school space.

“Creating this accessible bathroom is not just a matter of practicality, it is an investment in the well-being and independence of our parish/school families and visitors who may face mobility challenges,” said Vicki MarkAnthony, the church’s Senior Warden. “We hope the community shares our enthusiasm in embracing inclusivity and ensuring that every person can experience the joy and freedom an accessible restroom provides.”

The Building for Tomorrow campaign is seeking to raise $35,000 to cover the cost of the project. Donations are tax deductible and can be made by visiting Christ Church’s secure online giving page
